KID LOCO Kill Your Darling's

The re-release of last years' stoner trip hop drop from the master of marketing and would be soft porn peddler, Kid Loco. I wonder if the photos he uses are originals, and on KYD you might ask yourself the same thing about the tunes. A minimal 10 tracks of chilled-out song-songs with chorus' and lots of reverb, was actually a surprising exercise in restrained power. In pulling back the electronics and letting his musical partners in crime steal the spotlight, the songs here are diverse and elegant, but no relection at all upon his slammin' eclectic DJ sets, of which one will happen in a few weeks at the Akropolis. He's either one guy of he's got that Warhol magic.
